Saturday

We depart from London Saturday morning and head off to the fresh air of Wales. The trip to Wales gives you time to familiarise yourself with your guide and the rest of your group. First stop is Europe's Youngest Capital, Cardiff and chance to explore the magnificent Castle, Millennium Stadium, Market and Victorian shopping arcades. Of course you can't leave without trying out the local brew - a pint of Brains - in the revamped Cardiff Bay area. The we head West to the oldest town in Wales, Carmarthen where our hostel awaits us. A lively Saturday night lays ahead (or just relax in the hostel) with a visit to the smallest pub in Wales and more of Carmarthen's best pubs.

Sunday

After a refreshing walk to Llanstephan Castle we head for the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas' boathouse in Laugharne. Next into magnificent Pembrokeshire National Coast Park and you tackle your chosen Adventure Activity ! After refreshments at the smallest city in Britain, St. David's City we head on to the Preseli Mountains, source of the Stonehenge Bluestones, to view the spectacular 5,000 Neolithic Burial chamber, Pentre Ifan. The day is complete with a traditional, local Welsh dinner in a local pub.

Monday

We head today onto the Brecon Beacons for a walk to the highest peak in South Wales, Pen-Y-Fan. After lunch we take a trip down a coal mine with an ex-miner in the Valleys at the Big Pit coal min tour (free). Then it's back to London with happy memories of Wales courtesy of Shaggy Sheep.
