Monday

We depart from London and head off to the fresh air and beautiful countryside of Wales. The trip to Wales gives you time to get to know your guide and the rest of your group. and also to catch up on a bit of lost sleep !

Highlights of Day 1 include crossing the Severn Bridge, a trip down a real Coal Mine with an ex-miner at The Big Pit, a visit to 1966 Aberfan coal mining disaster memorial, and a refreshing hike up to Pen-Y-Fan, the highest peak in South Wales in the picturesque Brecon Beacons. Our first night is at our capital, Cardiff and chance for you to sample some of the City's nightlife including a trip to Cardiff Bay. Even though it's a Monday - Cardiff can be wild if you want it to be !

Tuesday

We let you loose on Cardiff and you have a chance to visit the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle and do some local shopping in the traditional Welsh indoor market, and Victorian arcades. If you are lucky you may see the infamous 'Toy Mike Trevor'. Afterwards we visit the fascinating open-air Museum of Welsh Life to see how the Welsh used to live and some of us still do ! Then we head West to Carmarthenshire, the Garden of Wales, and usually feast with some locals in local bar in the evening. If the weather is suitable we head to the beach close by for a BBQ.

Wednesday

Today is 'action-packed' . We visit the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas', boat house in Laugharne and discover the cathedral city of St. Davids and ruinous Bishops Palace before starting your Adventure Activity. If you do not wish to participate then we can arrange a peaceful beach walk. Next we view the amazing 5,000 year old Neolithic Pentre Ifan burial chamber on the Preseli Mountains, source of the Stonehenge Bluestones and afterwards we stop for some traditional coastal Fish & Chips at the pretty fishing port of Aberaeron. And then on to our 3rd nights accommodation. Here we can make the most of the local nightlife (1 pub with lock-in !) or just chill in the valley surroundings of the hostel.

Thursday

A short drive up into Snowdonia National Park takes us through some truly wicked scenery. You lunch at the exhilarating peak of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. For those who do not wish to climb Snowdon, we visit the spectacular Caernarfon Castle. Then on to the island of Anglesey across the Menai Suspension Bridge to stop at the village with the longest place name in Europe to get our passports stamped -Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerechwyndrobwllandisiliogogogoch. And finally we return to London with a head full of wonderful Welsh memories courtesy of Shaggy Sheep.

Whatever the weather - we always have a good time !
